Where it all started - Harley Davidson

In this shed is where it all started.
The Harley-Davidson Motorcycle started its life in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1903.
At that time Bill Harley and Arthur Walter Davidson built a one-cylinder motorcycle.
This motorcycle was well built and they ended up selling it.
They were now in the motorcycle business.
They continued to build motorcycles and by 1908 they had built 154.
Around this time William Davidson joined the company and it wasn't long before they had 20 employees and a new factory.
In 1909 Bill Harley took on a project to built a V Twin engine.
It turned out to be a 1000 cubic centimeter, 45 degree V twin engine producing seven horse power. This 45 degree V twin became one of the most recognizable symbols of the Harley-Davidson. The bar and shield logo came in 1910 and is still with them today.

Flathead V8 headers

Today I bought a buch o pipes. I also asked a friend to laser cut 2 sets of flanges to fit my flathead a couple of weeks earlier.
So now I have started to weld together the pipes to headers for my project -29 pheaton.
I started with the easy passanger side. Tomorrow I will do the drivers side and there I have to work around the steering box.
I know these headers will breath way much better then the original exaust manifolds.
I guess Ill get the engine from the workshop next week with fresh valves and seats.
Sweet!!

Indian hillclimber

First time I saw this photo was in Rodders journal, 2007.
Joe Lingrey was a theenager during the the post war era,and was one of few who had the money to both race his own hotrod and had the skill and equipment to take photos of the speed trials.
This photo is taken when he was 18 years old in 1949.
These are his own words about the picture.

"I carried my camera everywhere in the trunk of my -32 roadster. One day I ran across this guy riding his Indian motorcycle up a steep cliff wall at an old dumpsite in southwest Los angeles.
I couldnt believe what this guy was doing with his heavy flathead indian. He repeted this feat again and again. Thank goodness, because it gave me an opportunity to catch him completly suspended in the air before wrestling his machine back to earth.
One of the main things I remember about this hillclimb was the sound - the roar of his flatheadmotor echoed from the hillside cavern. He would dash up from the pit into the air with his bike, then back down to earth with his flathead motor still popping.
Where is this Indian rider today? He may still be alive today about 80 years old - If, ofcourse he survived stunts like this!"

1928 roadster & 1929 Pheaton

Today, the 11/2-11 I had a difficult decision to make.
Should I take this year première test ride in my roadster or my pheaton. I had to drive them both! Remember , this is in Sweden and its still winter.
The weather was -6 celsius and blue clear sky. It was cold as hell to drive but fuck yeah! I love driving my hotrods!
Soon the weather is warmer and you can drive around in a t-shirt and just enjoy your ride. Im looking forward to that.

1952 Oldsmobile series 98

I proudly present:
My dad and his 1952 Oldsmobile.
He bought this car in Las vegas 2006 the plan was to go to Viva Las Vegas rockabilly weekend with it. But the engine broke down and we had to take our rental car instead.
In august/september the same year, he got the car on swedish soil.
he restored its original Rocket engine, and he bought an Edmunds 2 deuce intake that I polished for him.
For the moment it sits in his garage waiting to get new paint.
Emerald green and black!

So I publish these pics on my blog so everyone else can see his beautiful car and maybe kick him in the nuts if he doesnt start working on it soon.

Come on dad, hurry up. We need to get this baby back on the road!
WHILE IM STILL YOUNG!!
